University National Team

To qualify for any team, athletes must maintain a current Powerlifting America membership that remains active through and beyond the international championship. Athletes must also be in good standing, with no potential Article 14 violations and no outstanding dues owed to the federation.

Automatic Selection:

Men’s and Women’s teams placing first through third in the team competition at the 2025 Powerlifting America University Nationals will automatically earn a team spot to compete in the IPF University Cup to be held in Istanbul Türkiye July 14^th-20^th, 2025

Each men’s and women’s team will be able to send a maximum of eight lifters per team with no more than 2 lifters in any given weight class. Lifters must meet the following criteria to compete for a team as a team member in the world cup event.

• Students who are currently officially registered and proceeding toward a degree or diploma at the university they will be competing for.
• Students must be at least 17 and no older than 25 years of age on December 31st of the year 2025.
• All Athletes must be current Powerlifting America members.
• Team members must have competed in a Powerlifting America meet between the dates of March 17, 2024 and April 6, 2025.
• Teams must accept the nomination by April 27, 2025.

Additional Team Nominations:

Up to two additional teams may be nominated based on the following criteria, the discretion of the University coaching staff, the criteria listed below in addition to the criteria listed above:

• The team can provide a minimum of three lifters that will travel to compete
• The team GL is >300 at the Powerlifting America University Nationals 2025.
